What Does the following widal Test Report Indicate?

My son (3.5 years old) is diagonised with Typhoid. Widal test report as below: s typhi - O- titer 1:80 s typhi -H-toter No Agglutintaion s Paratyphi - A(H) Titer No Agglutination s Paratyphi - B(H) Titer No Agglutination Platelet count 404 *1000/cu.mm Malarial Parasite Not seen He is on Typhoid medication since 30 April 2015 morning and is not getting high fever now which he use to have earlier. Fever use to reach 101 F. DOctor had advised for hospital admission but as he would have got irritated in hospital so we didnt admit. Doctor had advised to monitor his temperature every 2-3 hours. We are monitoring it and his temperature hasnt exceeded 97 F since we started Typhoid medication. My query is: How severe is his typhoid ? Will he need hospitalisation in his current condition ? He is coughin a lot and vomits cough , is it normal ? He is on Cherricoff Medicine. Will it relapse ? If possible then any medication for same.

Hi, i did review your concern,
Your son probably had typhoid infection by salmonella typhi species and seems that it has resolved. Do take antibiotics untill as directed by doctor, as s.typhi can survive in gallbladder and can cause relapse. As far as coughing is considered if ther is sputum i would advice you to get it examined after storing early morning sputum in a clean wide mouthed container. You can send it to a microbiology lab for complete analysis including for culture and acid fast bacilli.
Chances of relapse are low if your son takes proper antibiotic course and avoids unhealthy, or food outside or unsterilized water
I hope this helps
wish you a very healthy life,
